What’s New at Little Switzerland

We know that everyone is curious about what will be new at Little Switzerland.  Well, to summarize...EVERYTHING!

Little Swizerland is currently undergoing a multi-million dollar facelift, and while many of the loyal customers will still recognize the same key ingredients they loved about Switz, massive changes are in store for the entire property.

Facility Improvements

While a few key ingredients of the lodge remain, such as the Swiss style and one of the big fireplaces, the lodge has been gutted and completely remodeled.  Highlights include a beautiful new bar and game room upstairs in the all new Swiss Chalet.  The lower level will house an all new pro shop, new ticketing area, completely redesigned rental designed to maximize efficiencies and minimize time spent inside, a new ski patrol room, and an all new cafeteria.   

Snowmaking

With the uncertaintly of Midwestern winters, we understand the importance of an outstanding snowmaking system.  We've partnered with TechnoAlpin, the Snow Experts, to design a state-of-the-art snowmaking system at Little Switzerland.  Featuring an automated pump house and some of the most technologically advanced snow guns on the planet, the new snowmaking system at Little Switzerland will provide tons of great snow all season long.

Lifts

The classic lifts at Little Switzerland are getting complete upgrades this summer.  New variable frequency drives will not only provide smooth operation, but will save lots of energy.  Fresh paint will give the lifts a fresh look, but most of the work will go into parts not as visible.  The mechanical parts and safety systems will be gone through, and the safety circuits will be completely re-wired.  The lifts will be upgraded to meet or exceed the most current chairlift codes.  The quad chairlift on the Chicken Bowl is being replaced by two variable speed handle tow lifts, providing a great learning area.
